Charles J

Charles was born and raised in Norfolk, Virginia. He started singing when he was five years old. Charles began writing when he was thirteen and became a member of a singing group, named SOLO when he was seventeen. The group signed with CBS Records in 1987 and years later in 1991 the group split. In 1992, Charles signed a six month deal with Teddy Riley at Future Records. After Charles’s six months was up, he took another opportunity. Charles then opened in four cities for R. Kelly and Public Announcement. Afterwards Charles began singing back up for other artist on stage and in the studio for a couple of years. Charles then later moved to Atlanta and did more back up singing. Currently Charles is continuing to write songs for other artist.

Charles has a strong fan base in Virginia and South Carolina.
